Garden Cucumber Salad with Tuna and Sweet Basil
Ready for a home-grown salad recipe that’s as healthy to eat as it is delicious? This is the Garden Cucumber Salad with Tuna and Sweet Basil, and it’s low-carb and gluten-free. Just a half a cup of sweet basil leaves, as this recipe calls for, is only two calories, is very high in calcium, dietary fiber, iron, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, and zinc. It’s also high in niacin and riboflavin. And, as far as the canned tuna is concerned, it’s very high in protein, niacin, and vitamin B12; it’s also high in phosphorus and vitamin B6. So, with just these three ingredients, you are off to a winning start with this healthy tuna salad recipe.
Growing your own veggies at home isn’t as difficult as you think. Whether you live in a house and have a bit of land, or if you live in an apartment, you can still grow your own vegetables. If you’re a bit nervous about it, you can start by growing just one or two plants at a time. You can even start with a few potted veggies and expand from there. Start with one plant, and just do a little research first to learn as much as you can about it – what kind of soil it likes, how often to water it, and whether it enjoys full sunlight, partial, or mostly shade. Once you succeed in growing one veggie plant, you’ll build your confidence to grow more, and before you know it, you’ll have a whole garden, and an abundance of veggies and fruits to eat whenever you like.
